WITH INCREASED MARKET OPTIMISM IN THE MARINE INDUSTRY AND THE NORTH EAST OF SCOTLAND, TELEDYNE MARINE HAS ANNOUNCED THE CREATION OF TEN NEW ROLES THIS YEAR WITHIN THE FIRM AT THEIR DYCE AND BRIDGE OF DON OPERATIONS.   The increased headcount follows the transfer of two product lines from  Teledyne TSS, motion sensors and detection systems, which sees a significant investment in equipment and inventory.

Teledyne Marine welcomed Kirsty Blackman, MP for Aberdeen North, spokesperson for the Economy and Deputy SNP Leader in Westminster, to meet the team and visit the workshops where they design and manufacture the latest in technology in underwater equipment.  Kirsty commented “It was great to visit Teledyne Technologies on Friday to meet with managers and staff, to learn more about the business and have a tour of the facilities at the site. I am always pleased to see a company thriving in this current economic climate, providing a large number of skilled jobs and opportunity for local economic growth."

The firm's expansion continues with a planned increase of a new termination test facility at the Bridge of Don site and a further six roles in the pipeline for later in the year, showing optimism for the future in the subsea and, offshore oil and gas sectors.

Teledyne Marine's operation in Aberdeen specialise in the design and manufacture of underwater vision systems (including, cameras, LED lights, and xenon emergency relocation strobes), underwater pipe and cable detection systems, motion sensors and custom-moulded cable assemblies.

Michael Parkin, Head of Business Operations for Teledyne Marine in Aberdeen adds “Throughout this year, we have seen growth and investment in the local area and the wider business community, indicating a renewed confidence in Aberdeen.  We believe now is the perfect time to continue to invest in our company to aid further growth going forward.  Our new colleagues almost doubles our headcount in the granite city; they are placed strategically within the team to complement our existing strengths which allow us to expand the services we offer and provide first class solutions for our clients locally."
